Old Geezer Birthday Card for Eric...he's 40!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone!

Here is a card I sent my BFF's husband.  Eric turned 40 on March 18th.  I'm a little late with it, but I think he'll enjoy it just the same! The pictures are below:

I will try to post more often, hopefully I can do it daily starting next week.  Its just been really hectic with doctor appointments!  Look for "Linda's Corner" sometime in the next couple of days and also for the BFF challenge.

I finished the Masculine Birthday Stamp-A-Stack last week, so I will posting the pictures as well.

Until next time...thanks for stopping by!

Happy Stampin'

This weeks challenge was decided by me.  LAST WEEK's challenge was created by Lisa, not me.,  I copied and pasted from her blog and didn't fix the wording!

Anyway here is this week's:
The rules for the BFF challenge are:
1.   Make your own flower
2. Use Spring colors
3.  Use ribbon and chipboard
4. Use only 1 tiny embellishment

My Card:

The colors I used were Always Artichoke, Sahara Sand, and Pink Pirouette.  The happy birthday chipboard is from SU and I misted it with smooch spray.  I used the scallop circle punch and a rhinestone brad to create my flower.  I daubed cherry cobbler on the edges.

I am mailing this card to my wonderful Mom-in-Law.  I hope she likes it!

Embedded Embossing

I visited one of my favorite blogs a few days ago:  ( and saw her beautiful embedded cards. The cards I fell in love with had a black base and bright colors embedded in them. I immediately went to work on my own!  Here are some pictures of what I've tried.  Some of them are not complete, but I was so excited to post these, I couldn't wait! Thank you GRETCHEN BARRON!

I'd love to hear from ya'll letting me know whatcha think!

What's On my dear friend Linda B. Schneider

I will apologize in advance if this post seems to be all over the place. But I wanted to tell you about a very dear friend of mine and what I am planning on doing in her honor.

The story starts off in September 2009 when I get a phone call from woman by the name of Linda Schneider. She found my Stampin' UP! website and saw the events I was holding for the month. She asked if she could attend a class.  Well of course!  I was completed delighted that the fee of $12.95 a month for my website was paying off!

She came to the event and it was an instant relationship.  She was like a second mother to me.  We talked 3 or 4 times a week. She lived about thirty minutes away from me.  When she would drive into town, she'd stop by for a hug and chat.  We'd discuss new techniques she's found or a card one of us made, etc.
This went on consistently for our entire relationship.

I say "relationship" instead of "friendship"  because it was so much more than just "friendship".

My group of girls that attend my classes regularly opened their arms to Linda.  We all loved her sooooo much.  Linda would shower us with gifts for our birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, and those "just because" days.

Fast forward to September 29th 2010.  Linda called me that morning and told me she was unable to make it to my house for a Technique Class.  She couldn't catch her breath and thought she had the chest cold all of us had been passing around.  So I told her to go to the doctor and that I loved her.

That was the last time I ever spoke to her.

Thursday, September 30, 2010, Linda passed away in the hospital from a blood clot and congestive  heart failure.  I had tried to call her several times that day and wondered why I couldn't get ahold of her.

Let me digress for a moment and say that my stamp club went to her house on lake on Sept. 11th and spent the day stampin' and having a grand ol' time. Her husband Steve, took us all out on the pontoon boat for a tour.  It was one of the best days of my life.  To see Linda smiling and enjoying her company was priceless.

I still think of her several times a day and probably always will.  I miss her encouragement and kind words.  Her laughter and her Texas drawl.   I miss her passion for creating beautiful cards.  I just miss her, period.

So the story continues...

Linnaire and I went to Steve and Linda's house this last Saturday and picked up almost all of her stamping supplies. It took us TWO TRIPS!  We still aren't done either!  I have gained so many things from Linda, just by knowing her.  I now own her stampin supplies and I feel humbled and honored.  I  will  do  her proud.  I will continue to share my love of this wonderful world of creativity with people.

I also want to design a special "Linda's Corner" on my blog dedicated to her and to showcase HER cards.  I want to share her passion with you and show you the AMAZING creations she came up with.

This is the reason I've been behind on posting on my blog this week.  I have been organizing and reorganizing  and rearranging furniture so I can fit all her stuff in my area. One of my BFF'S Linnaire Di Bernardo, helped me all week.  Thank you hon!

Please stay tuned for Linda's Corner...I'm still learning the ins and outs of blogging.  I will leave you with a few pictures of her masterpieces.

Thanks for reading,

Stamp Club Continued...

When posting the pictures last week, I was  unable to find Linnaire's Card.  Well, I found it and wanted to share with you the simplicity and beauty of her card.  I'm sooooooo happy I found it!
